September
For the month of September
the Rock Creek FFA chapter was very successful. In terms of district events, our horse judging team went to Highland
and did fairly well considering there were only two people. Tyler Sutton placed 2nd and Mark Jack finished with
240 points in the B team. Andy Newkirk took 27th in the A team individual competition. In the Nursery/Landscape
contest William Trieb placed 10th in the individual B-team competition. Along with all of our competitions the
Rock Creek chapter also took 13 students to State Fair where they taught younger kids about how you can make biodegradable
plastic from corn starch which demonstrated the vast amount of opportunities that go along with agriculture. At another station
people could learn the qualities needed to produce a champion beef, swine, and sheep. At the Greenhand Conference, 1st
years, Pake E., Josh Mann, Skyler O’Shea, Patrick O’Conner, William Trieb, George Dille, and Devin Kesl had a
great time. Rock Creek FFA chapter also elected two new members to the officer team. They are Mark Jack as StuCo Rep and William
Trieb as Student Advisor.
