Chapter Banquet
Rock Creek held its annual FFA banquet on April 27. Tiffany
Ebert was the star of the night. She accepted two different scholarships and several other awards including a proficiency
award. Also they selected six new officers for the 06-07 year. Paige Crum Plummer-President, Andy Newkirk-Vice President,
Chyann Ebert-Treasurer, Dustin Miner-Reporter, Christine Ebert-Secretary, and Monica Ebert-Sentinel.
Speech Contest
On January 16, 2006, we sent Monica Ebert,
Paige Crum Plummer, Andy Newkirk, Tiffany Ebert, Katelyn Hood, and Derek Fike to the Northeast District speech contest in
Holton. Monica competed in the freshman division in prepared speaking and Creed speaking. She placed 7th in Creed
and 11th in prepared speech. Katelyn competed in the sophomore division in prepared speaking and got 6th.. Competing in the
junior division were Andy Newkirk and Paige Crum Plummer. In the senior division Tiffany Ebert placed 4th earning a trip to
state competition. In the Extemporaneous category Derek Fike placed 12th. The team overall placed 4th. While also there Tiffany
Ebert, Andy Newkirk, and Katelyn Hood comoeted in the Ag-Management contest and placed 3rd on B-team. Individual placings
were Tiffany Ebert, 3rd, and Andy Newkirk, 8th.
Leadership School
On
November 15, the Rock Creek FFA chapter took its officers to Leadership School in Beattie,
KS. Officers attending were Tiffany Ebert, Paige Crum Plummer, Andy Newkirk, Kasey Newland,
Derek Fike, and Katelyn Hood. While there they did opening and closing ceremonies, parliamentary procedure, and they also
took an FFA information test and a parlaw test. Along with RC were 13 other schools in the northeast district. Rock Creek
placed 7th in Ritual, 8th in FFA Info, 9th in Parlaw, with a 10th place finish
overall.

Horse Judging
On October 8, 2005, we sent a horse judging
team to Sabetha. The team consisted of Mark Jack, Blake Hinkle, and Tyler Sutton. The team competed in the B-team division
and placed 3rd overall with Tyler Sutton being the high individual with a 3rd place finish. The team brought home the 1st plaque
of the year. Good Job Guys!

National Convention
On October 24-29, the
Rock Creek FFA attended the 78th National FFA Convention in Louisville, KY. Along with
RC there were over 50,000 FFA members that were in attendance. Members from RC were Paige Crum Plummer, Kasey Newland, Andy
Newkirk, Tiffany Ebert, Monica Ebert, and Christine Ebert. Over the course of the week, FFA members went to workshops and
sessions based on leadership skills and qualities that someone may need in their future careers. Billy Brown competed in the
Prepared Speaking CDE, representing the state of Kansas.
Congratulations on his hard work and placing 1st nationally. Also during the week the national officers gave their
retiring addresses and later on the 29th, new national officers were elected for 2005-2006.

Dairy
Judging
On October 4, 2005,
Rock Creek FFA had a team go to dairy judging in Marysville. Since there were many who this was their first year, they competed
in the B-Team division. People attending were Mark Jack, Blake Hinkle, Brad Havenstein, Derek Saueressig, Jared Schlegel,
and Cody Biesenthal. The highest scorer for the team was Mark Jack with 328 pts. The team placed 9th in the B-Team
division.
